ISRAEL IS ...

... HARD ON MY MIND and brought back a memory.

BE  SURE TO READ THE CARTOON AND MESSAGE BELOW 63  YEARS LATER.

The  prize doesn't always go to the most  deserving....

Irena  Sendler
There  recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to  work in the  Warsaw   Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.   She had  an 'ulterior motive' ......She KNEW what the  Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.)   Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the  tool box she carried and she carried in the back  of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..)    She also had a dog in the back that she trained  to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and  out of the ghetto.   The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking  covered the kids/infants noises....During her  time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out  and save 2500 kids/infants.    She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat  her severely. Irena kept a  record of the names of all the kids she smuggled  out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a  tree in her back yard.    After the war, she tried  to locate any parents that may have survived in order to reunite the family; most  had been  gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into  foster family homes or  adopted. Recently,  Irena was up  for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was  not  selected, but Al Gore and Barack Obama were. Al Gore won for a slide show on Global Warming  and Barack Obama won for a speech on  peace. I guess the world forgot!
Please  read the little cartoon carefully, it's  powerful.

In   MEMORIAM  - 63 YEARS  LATER

It is  now more than 60 years after World War  II in   Europe  ended. I am posting this  in memory of the 20 million Russians, 10  million Christians, 6 million Jews and  1,900 Catholic priests  who were murdered,  massacred, raped, burned and  starved with  many of the world's  people looking  the other way!
Now,  more than ever, with extremist  Muslims claiming the Holocaust to  be 'a myth,' it's imperative to make sure the  world never forgets, because Muslim extremists  are trying to do it  again. I'm doing my small part by posting this message. I hope you'll consider doing the same.
REMINDER: Be sure to read the little cartoon carefully, it's  powerful. Then reread these ending comments. I'm doing my small part by posting this message. I hope you'll consider doing the same.

LOOKING BACK ...

... and looking forward is a pastime I sometimes indulge in just to make certain my feet are firmly grounded in the present. The past was a great learning time and the future is a place for dreams to come true. As for the present--it seems to be a "waiting" time. For what? Hummm...that is an interesting question to solve and if done properly, will take more than a minute or two to answer.

Elleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962), a woman of wisdom yet many times reviled, once said: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that's why they call it the present."

WHAT A STRANGE WORLD ...

... our planet has become. It all seems so hostile and foreign as if all the beauty that we were has been squeezed out of us one drop at a time. We are bombarded with clips and videos of death and destruction while the wonder of a "super moon" flashed by with practically no notice. I nearly missed the glory of that happening. The weather seemed determined to  keep round brilliance hidden--storm clouds boiled and rain poured as if to emphasize the dark misery enveloping our world. True, 3 days of being trapped behind that darkness gave our companion time to distance itself, but even so, it retained its round shining long enough for me to give thanks that at least that familiar object had retained its position in our lives, still gave light if we took the time to look. An anchor to cling to. All is well. God has not left us after all. Not yet anyway.
